FUCHSIA Lady Thumb \nA dwarf, bushy, upright shrub with showy flowers and a fast growth habit. \nLady Thumb is very free flowering, red and white blooms hang from arching stems from June to October among slender, deep green leaves. \nThis vigorous, semi-double flowered fuchsia makes a lovely specimen plant at the front of a sunny or partially shaded border. \nTo encourage bushy growth, pinch out the growing tips of young plants after the sixth or seventh pair of leaves. \nPerforms best in fertile, moist, well-drained soil and Lady Thumb likes a little protection from cold, drying winds. \nDuring the growing season water regularly and apply a balanced liquid fertiliser once a month. \nAlthough Lady Thumb is an unusually hardy variety and is sometimes grown as a low hedge this should only be attempted in well sheltered areas. \nAny damaged caused by winter frosts is quickly recovered in spring. \nRoyal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit. \nAll pictures used are of mature plants in bloom, they are for illustration purposes only and may not reflect the plant at all times of the year. \nOur Fuchsia plants are supplied ex. 9cm pots, they can be planted out immediately but better results may be obtained if they are grown on for a short time in a slightly larger container before transplanting to their final growing positions. \nThere's a super little by John Lord on the hardy varieties of this plant. \nPACK 1 PLANT \nIMMEDIATE \n \nYou can view some of the many other shrubs we stock via this . \nPlease remember plant maintenance within our nursery is absolutely essential and means we need to prune back some items at certain times of the year to help maintain shape and encourage new growth. \nWe ask all our buyers to remember Fuchsia plants are living items and their appearance changes with the seasons.  Please don’t panic if the plant you receive looks different to the image on the website.
