Made from high-quality magnesium material, this anode rod attracts and absorbs oxidizing substances and contaminants in the water through electrolysis, helping to prevent rust and corrosion in metal water tanks and ensuring prolonged use of your RV water heater. These magnesium anode rods are more effective than aluminum alternatives in attracting corrosive elements, protecting the water heater tank from corrosion and extending its lifespan. The anode rod helps extend the life of the water heater by sacrificing itself to corrosion. If the rod becomes depleted or fully decayed, the tank may begin to rust, crack, fail, and eventually leak. Each magnesium anode rod measures 4.5 inches (115mm) in length, has a 0.5 inch (13mm) diameter, and features 1/2 inch threads. Designed to fit compatible water heaters.
