220V 4000W Aluminium SCR Controller

Compact unit measuring 85 x 65 x 38 mm (3.35 x 2.56 x 1.5 inches), built with industrial-grade aluminium housing for mechanical durability and thermal dissipation. Designed for AC 220V mains input and rated up to 4000W with purely resistive loads such as heating elements or incandescent lamps. Voltage output is smoothly adjustable from 10V minimum to full 220V. Internal construction includes tin-plated high-current traces to minimise resistive heating, reinforced connection posts, protective cap, and an enlarged finned heat sink. Safety features comprise double insulation, RC snubber circuitry for transient suppression, and integrated fuse support. No retail packaging — supplied as bare unit with mounting hardware and terminal labels. Use cases include temperature regulation in benchtop electric furnaces, power control for 220V immersion water heaters, brightness adjustment for stage or workshop lighting, speed control of shaded-pole or universal motors (within torque limits), and consistent heat management in domestic irons or soldering stations. Must be installed by a competent person in accordance with BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations). Not suitable for LED drivers, switch-mode power supplies, or reactive loads without external correction.
