3.5 Inch Copper Root Kill Nails

This professional-grade stump removal set contains 12 pure copper nails (9 cm / 3.5 inches × 3.5 mm), 1 stainless steel nail (9 cm × 3.5 mm), and 1 cobalt-alloy high-speed steel drill bit nail (6.8 cm / 2.7 inches × 3.5 mm). All components are dimensionally matched for seamless integration: the 3.5 mm diameter ensures compatibility across pilot drilling and final insertion steps. Copper offers inherent biocidal properties in woody tissue; stainless steel delivers strength and longevity in high-impact use; cobalt-HSS provides thermal stability and edge retention during root penetration. The process begins with pilot hole creation using either the stainless steel nail or drill bit nail—especially useful for gnarled or sap-rich roots—followed by systematic insertion of copper nails around the stump’s outer ring. This maximises copper ion diffusion while avoiding over-concentration that could affect nearby soil biology. Because copper acts locally within the xylem and phloem, neighbouring plants remain unaffected—making this kit especially appropriate for residential gardens, heritage sites, or ecologically sensitive grounds where chemical runoff or root disturbance must be avoided.
