Brass 40 Micron Pre Filter

A 1/2 inch threaded brass water filter featuring a 40 micron 304 stainless steel mesh insert and a transparent polycarbonate (PC) housing. Overall dimensions: 125 mm long × 21 mm OD; approximate weight: 280 g. Certified for use in potable cold water systems up to 10 bar working pressure and 60°C — ideal for integration into UK domestic water heater feed lines and general plumbing circuits. The filter operates via an outside-in flow principle: water enters radially through the mesh surface, trapping particles ≥40 microns on the exterior. This preserves internal flow area and eliminates pressure loss. The solid brass construction ensures structural integrity during installation and service, while the non-corroding 304 stainless mesh retains dimensional stability across repeated cleaning cycles. Common applications include safeguarding immersion heaters, indirect cylinder coils, and electric shower inlets from abrasive deposits. Particularly beneficial in regions with intermittent supply, brown-water events, or properties connected to historic distribution networks. The transparent housing enables quick verification of filter status during annual boiler servicing — aligning with UK Gas Safe maintenance expectations.
