Cast Iron Heat Diffuser Thawing Plate

20 cm diameter × 6 mm thickness; weighs approx. 850 g. Manufactured from dense, high-conductivity cast iron with a matte black oxide finish. Both sides feature fine-grain non-slip texture for maximum grip on stovetops and cookware bases. Works as a heat diffuser on all common stove types (gas, electric coil, ceramic, and induction-compatible models with magnetic base) and as a passive thawing surface for frozen food. Delivers stable, low-intensity heat transfer ideal for gentle simmering, reduction, and warming without boiling over or scorching. Reduces reliance on high flame or power settings — cutting energy use and extending cookware lifespan by shielding bottoms from direct flame contact. For thawing, leverages ambient room temperature and iron’s thermal mass to accelerate defrosting evenly, avoiding surface melt or bacterial risk associated with partial microwave thawing. Suitable for standard UK-sized pots and pans (up to 22 cm base). Tested in domestic, mobile, and outdoor cooking environments — including small kitchens, motorhomes, and portable gas burners. Easy to wipe clean; rust-resistant with regular dry storage and occasional light oil application.
