Copper 3.5in Stump Removal Hardware Kit

Includes 23 pure copper nails (3.5 in × 3.5 mm), 1 stainless steel nail (3.5 in × 3.5 mm), and 1 cobalt HSS drill bit (2.7 in × 3.5 mm). All parts are manufactured to tight tolerances (±0.1 mm diameter) for repeatable performance. Copper purity exceeds 99.9%, verified per BS EN 13602:2016 for electrical-grade copper — guaranteeing consistent conductivity and ion-release kinetics. Stainless steel component conforms to EN 10088-1 for corrosion resistance. Drill bit meets DIN 338 geometry standards for centre-cutting accuracy. The mechanism relies on electrochemical interaction: copper acts as an anode in the moist wood matrix, corroding preferentially and releasing ions that denature key enzymes (e.g., polyphenol oxidase) involved in wound healing and secondary growth — effectively turning the stump into a low-energy substrate for native decomposers. Developed for UK domestic users seeking a low-effort, low-risk solution for stumps under 40 cm diameter. Compatible with cordless drills (10–18 V), standard claw hammers, and garden gloves. No PPE required beyond basic hand protection. Fully compliant with UK Environmental Protection Act 1990 guidelines for non-hazardous garden interventions.
