Heavy Iron Heat Diffuser Plate

Measures 20 cm in diameter and 6 mm thick, weighing approximately 850 g. Made from solid cast iron with a black oxidised finish. Features a double-sided non-slip textured surface for secure placement under cookware. Functions as both a heat diffuser for gas, electric, and induction hobs (with compatible base), and a passive thawing plate for frozen foods. Distributes heat evenly across the base of pots and pans to eliminate hot spots, reduce scorching, and improve simmer control — especially beneficial for soups, stews, sauces, and delicate reductions. Helps lower energy consumption by allowing lower stove settings while maintaining consistent thermal output. Also enables safe, electricity-free defrosting: place frozen meat or fish directly on the plate at room temperature for natural, even thawing. Ideal for home kitchens, caravans, RVs, and camp stoves where precise low-heat control and equipment protection are essential. Compatible with stainless steel, aluminium, copper, and enameled cookware. Requires no seasoning but benefits from light oiling after cleaning to maintain surface integrity.
