Pure Copper Stump Killer Nails Set

You receive 23 pure copper nails (3.5 in × 3.5 mm), 1 stainless steel nail (3.5 in × 3.5 mm), and 1 cobalt-infused high-speed steel drill bit nail (2.7 in × 3.5 mm). The uniform diameter ensures tight fit in drilled holes, while length supports deep insertion into hardwood stumps. Copper is inherently antimicrobial and non-reactive in soil, offering passive, long-term ion release. Stainless steel adds strength for initial hole preparation, and the cobalt alloy drill bit maintains sharpness and resists thermal deformation during repetitive drilling in fibrous wood. Copper ionisation works by accumulating in the cambium layer, inhibiting cell division and lignin synthesis — slowing regrowth and encouraging internal rot. Application requires no mixing, spraying, or protective gear: simply drill pilot holes evenly around the stump perimeter using the included tools, then hammer in copper nails to full depth. Because copper mobility in soil is very low — especially in neutral to alkaline UK garden soils — neighbouring shrubs, grasses, and perennials remain unaffected, making this a responsible choice for eco-conscious gardeners managing legacy stumps on residential plots.
