Self-Testing Battery Water Timer

A compact, standalone water timer engineered for reliable small-scale irrigation across the UK. Physical dimensions: 12 cm wide × 8 cm deep × 5 cm high; total weight: 275 g. Housing made from UV-resistant ABS plastic ensures long-term resilience against British overcast conditions and occasional summer sun exposure. Operates on two standard AA batteries (not included), with average battery life exceeding 5 months under typical usage (e.g., 24h interval). Each activation initiates an automatic valve self-test: the solenoid engages momentarily, producing a distinct click and verifying full mechanical travel before scheduling begins. Frequency is adjusted exclusively via the B button — intuitive press-and-hold logic cycles through four fixed intervals (12h / 24h / 48h / 72h), with no display but clear haptic feedback. Compatible with standard UK garden fittings: connects directly to ½-inch BSP taps and supports oscillating sprinklers, fixed-spray nozzles, and 4 mm/6 mm drip systems. Especially suited to front-porch planters, patio herb gardens, and tiered balcony setups where manual access is awkward or inconsistent.
