Underwater Optical Filter Trio

A compact, mission-specific trio of underwater optical filters — red, pink, and purple — engineered for GoPro Hero 5 and Hero 6 cameras operating inside waterproof housings. Dimensions: approx. 5.5 × 5 cm per filter; total weight: approx. 52 g. Lenses are made from optical glass for high clarity and abrasion resistance; frames are rigid plastic for secure fit and longevity. The red filter offsets red-light attenuation in deeper saltwater, bringing back warmth and dimensionality to scenes shot between 5–25 m. The pink filter fine-tunes blue-heavy ambient light — increasing perceived contrast and restoring deep-sea blue saturation without oversaturation or unnatural shifts. The purple filter responds to green-dominated spectra found in freshwater reservoirs or algae-rich brackish zones, correcting white balance drift and stabilising flesh and object tones. This set supports adaptive shooting: swap filters pre-dive based on planned depth and water type — whether exploring UK coastal kelp forests (pink), Norwegian fjord basins (red), or Lake District tarns (purple). All filters improve colour volume and tonal separation at capture — supporting both stills and 4K video with no latency or processing overhead.
